"Here You Go"

Are you aware of how often you say certain phrases? We weren't until the Munchkin started saying "Here You Go".

It all started when he was around 11 months...we didn't realize at first, but every time he gave us something he would say "eargo"...after a while we realize he was saying "Here You Go"

As time went on, the way he said the phrase evolved. He went from "Here Go" to "Here You Go" to "Here You Go You Go You" and now he says the whole phrase really fast as though it was one word.

It blows my mind how my 15 month old says 3 simple words, "Hi", "Dadda" and "Mumma" and then a phrase. He has realized that he can pretty much communicate his wants and needs through this one phrase. Not only does he say it when he gives you something, but he also (and more frequently) uses it to ask for something.

Being with my Bubba 24/7 has given me the time to interpret each "Here You Go" for example;

When he goes to the pantry and says "Here You Go" he is hungry and wants you to feed him.

If he passes you an iPhone and says "Here You Go" its because he wants to play with his ABC app and he needs you to start it for him.

If he goes to the fridge or the kitchen in general and says "Here You Go" he wants a drink.

If he grabs my hand and says "Here You Go" as he pulls me along it means I need to come with him.

If he stands at the door and says "Here You Go" it means he wants to go out and play.

If he ends up in the bathroom with you he will stand at the tub repeating "Here You Go" because he wants a bath (he is crazy about water, I'm thinking we should start investing in his swimming career, maybe you'll see him in the 2024 Olympics?!).

If he wants to get your attention from across the room he stands and stares at you and says "Here You Go" over and over again until you look up.

We are working on expanding his vocabulary, but it sure is cute that he has his little phrase that helps him communicate, and it definitely makes life easier because we can understand his needs a little more. My baby is growing up so fast, he makes me laugh every day, he gives sweet hugs and kisses and constantly learning. I'm so in love with our little Lucas!
