Tonight I was browsing through my journal, when I stumbled upon an entry from November 2006, just 2 months after I met Brett. The entry ended like this...
"I am so incredibly grateful that my Heavenly Father sent Brett Steenblik
into my life, he has changed it in so many ways. He has been my
strength and I have been his, we have cried together, laughed together,
had fun together and built the most amazing friendship. I love him so
much. One day I want to marry someone like Brett, someone so self-less,
so in tune with the spirit, so aware of others and himself, someone who
makes me as happy as he does."
When Brett and I were just friends I would tell him "I will find someone like you". I didn't need to find someone like him, because he stood right in front of me. We didn't know it then, at least on completely, that we would be married 3 years later. I'm so glad I didn't have to find someone like him and that I get to have him in my life every single day for the rest of Eternity.
I love my sweet husband, and amidst our busy lives full of parenting and working I love to be reminded of the precious moments that led us to this point.
How blessed I am.
