12 Months

22lbs & 29 inches

• He got croup on his birthday, that's why he isn't super happy in the picture
• His favorite thing to say is "A-Bug-A-Bug-A-Boo", I'm convinced it means something to him
• He LOVES stuffed animals and cuddles with them all the time
• He loves to read books and turn the pages
• He runs everywhere
• He now uses a sippy cup in the day
• He has fallen down a flight of stairs, he didn't get hurt, he was only shocked
• He loves going to the park, the swings are his favorite
• He has his own iPhone, Papa's old broken one
• He put my iPhone in the toilet, it is completely dead
• He is super social
• He claps and waves
• He is in the process of learning baby sign, he gets confused between milk and waving
• Waving his arms is his version of dancing
• When you leave and close the door behind you, he stands there and knocks in hopes that you will come back
• One morning he came into our room, climbed on the bed, and jumped on me...it woke me up :)
• He loves to climb up and under anything

Our sweet boy is a year old, how time has flown. We fall more in love with him everyday and we can't get enough of his cheeky grin and fun personality!

Great-Grandparents

We had a yummy Sunday dinner at Shellie and Kenny's. Grandma and Grandpa joined us and Lucas managed to sit still long enough to take a picture with them. Lucas is around their 23rd Great-grandchild and there will soon be 28. I just adore this picture!

Good Morning Mumma

This morning I awoke to my boys, very excited to show me a picture they had just taken. Lucas loves to cuddle his Duckie but this is the first picture we managed to get of it! What a great thing to wake up to!

Fun At The Park

This winter has been very unusual...barely any snow and some beautiful spring like days, not that I can complain about that.

A couple of days ago the weather was just gorgeous so Lucas and I ventured out to the park. He LOVES the swings and giggled the whole time.

I love the age Lucas is at right now, he runs everywhere, is interested in discovering everything and I love watching him figure things out. We are going to have such a fun summer playing and learning!!

A Weekend of Firsts

 This weekend was a weekend of firsts for Lucas. Grammy and Papa came to visit for the afternoon because Papa had to come down for work. When they saw that Lucas was bursting out of his car seat they decided we needed to look into getting him a big boy one. Here he is enjoying his first car ride facing forward. He hasn't quite figured out what to do with head whilst he sleeps though!

 Brett and I had been discussing Lucas' need for a hair cut in recent weeks. When Grammy saw the out of control blonde locks at the top of his head she voiced the same opinion...although Papa said we should just leave it we went for the clippers anyway. Here he is all happy with his out of control hair, moments before we tackle the task. Then we have a picture of the first moments of the hair cut...as you can see he looks a little worried...a few seconds later the crying and flailing came...it looks better than before (note the car seat pictures are with his new hair cut), but we still have to snip a little here and there when he is not looking to trim up some of the sides. The new hair cut makes my little man look so grown up! Love him to pieces!

11 Months

• He now has 6 teeth, one either side of his two front teeth.
• He has chipped one of his two front teeth...this matches Daddy's chipped tooth
• He clicks his tounge
• He can climb up on our bed and attempts to climb up everything he can
• There are teeth marks on his crib from him biting
• He giggles all the time 
• He loves to be tickled
• He walks half of the time
• He loves to play with other babies at church
• He loves to come to work with Mummy and hang out with the clients
• He gets mad if you take your cell phone from him
• He bites and goes to time out for it
• He threw a glass and it broke a plate
• He HATES the snow
• He loves to dive on Mummy and Daddy's bed

In one month our baby will be a year old! Where did the past year go? It has been the best year of our marriage so far and we love our little Munchkin so much!!

10 Months

• As you can see from the picture above he loves the swing
• His two top teeth are all the way through
• He can take 6 or 7 steps at a time now
• He loves to sing...especially during church when it's not time to sing :)
• He loves to crawl around naked
• He will eat anything in sight
• He loves to look at pictures and watch videos of himself
• He loves to shower with Mumma or Daddy and play at their feet
• He traps himself in his room and gets mad about it
• He loves play time in the bed with Mumma and Dadda
• He loves to pull books off the book shelves and pull everything out of the kitchen cupboards and draws.

What a precious boy we have that always makes us smile!

9 Months

21lbs 27 inches

• He loves watered down apple juice
• His two bottom teeth are all the way in
• He has taken 3 steps (and I missed it!)
• He can't get enough of swimming!
• He had his first accident where it caused him to bleed (He cut his cheek)
• He is the happiest when he is with lots of people
• He always wants to eat what we are eating. even if he has just been fed
• He sleeps best in his own bed
• He loves the chocolate from his advent calendar (although he only had a few and I ate the rest!)
• He loves to Skype every Sunday with Nanna and Grandad and Grammy and Papa

8 Months

20lbs 26inches 

• He has two teeth poking out of his gums that are causing him a lot of pain
• His best friend is his little cousin Ellie
• He is afraid of the washing machine, dishwasher and the vaccum
• He loves almost every food, but his favorite are crackers
• He now has a highchair (thanks Nanna and Grandad) which seems to leave more of a mess on the floor than the tray
• He never sits still
• He still follows me around everywhere
• When I leave for work he stands and knocks on the door for 10 minutes before he realizes I'm not coming back
• He loves it when Grammy gives him suckers, he will even steal Ellie's if he gets half the chance
• Ellie taught him how to growl and so they growl back and forth at each other
• He wants to walk
  so bad, but continues to speedily move from object to object to get to his destination

He is such a funny boy that is growing so fast, we are so excited for this holiday season as a family!

Homemade Ball Pit

I love pinterest and I recently saw an awesome idea to make Lucas a ball put using his Pack 'N' Play. We went to Toys R Us and made our first purchase since we kids ourselves, a bag of 100 play balls. We thought 100 balls would be enough to fill our homemade pit but not quite. Regardless Lucas still loves his little ball pit!

My Little Shadow

I live with the most adorable boys and one of them is my little shadow. Now Lucas crawls and moves himself around in the funniest of ways I have a constant companion. He follows me from room to room, gets annoyed when he makes it half way there and I turn around, and he climbs all over me. This past month when I was trying take his 6 month pictures it was very difficult, I couldn't get him to stop chasing after me. Oh the difference a month makes, what a funny kid I have!

7 Months

Stats to come

• His new thing is to stick out his tongue
• He loves mashed potatoes and gravy
• He went down a slide for this first time
• He is teething so he is constantly chomping on fingers, spoons and more recently green beans
• He never stays still
• He he very curious and gets distracted by almost everything
• He pulls himself up to standing and has stood by himself for a couple of seconds
• He loves to climb over people
• He follows us around the apartment
• He is a little clingy and hates it when we leave his sight
• He gets scared when we spin him in circles
• Dressing him and changing his nappy is a nightmare because he won't stay still
• He loves to crawl around naked
• Bath time is still his favorite time
• We were at a friends house, he leaned his head on my shoulder and all 4 of us heard him say "I tired"! Fluke? Probably, but it was amazing! 
• He is a social butterfly and is 100% happy if he has someone to play with

I can't believe our little pumpkin is 7 months old, time flies but we love watching him grow and love his funny personality.

6 Months

18lbs 8oz - 26 inches

• He shoots his binkie out with his tounge
• He is well traveled, he has been on buses, trains, planes and even been in a car that drives on the other side of the road
• He has had he first real cold...it was sad
• He LOVES his cousin Lula! She is 2 years older than him, but they love to play together!
• He sits up by himself
• He has purposely spat out his food at me and laughed afterward
• He loves the Greene's dog Donavon
• He is a charmer
• Feeds himself his bottle
• He looks more and more like his Daddy everyday!
• He lays on his back or belly and sits in the bath
• He rubs my face
• When he doesn't want to sleep he rolls over and plays in his crib
• He loves to be thrown in the air
• He has rolled off the couch
• He isn't quite crawling, but can get anywhere he wants with a scoot, roll, wiggle or a leap

Our baby is growing so fast! He is such a sweet and fun little boy!

Officially a Real Mummy

You may think the title of this post is a little silly. Yes, I have been a Mummy for 6 months now, but I this week has made me really feel like a Mummy. The past 2 nights I have done something my mother always did when we were growing up, something that went beyond meeting the basic needs of her children, and for some reason being like my mother makes me feel like more of a mother.

When we were kids and sick my Dad would sleep on the couch or in our bed and let us sleep in the big bed with Mummy. I remember doing this many times, and loving the fact that my Mummy was there whenever I needed her. I even remember one time we both had the flu really bad and we just lay in her bed together, but she was still there for me even though she was sick.

Lucas has been really sick with a cold this past week and he has been sleeping in my bed and Brett in the other room. When he wakes up in the night it is nice to be right next to him and help him get back to sleep.

I'm sad my baby is sick, but I am glad I have been able to cuddle him and help him feel better.

5 Months

16lbs 12oz - 25 inches

• He rolls which way and every way
• He is attempting to Army crawl
• He is a Nanna and a Grammy's boy
• He can hold his own bottle for a limited amount of time
• He tries to spoon feed himself
• He will put everything and anything in his mouth
• He belly laughs
• He sleeps without being swaddled
• He loves apples, pears and sweet potatoes
• He loves his stuffed Giraffe 
• He rolled into our friends entertainment center and had his first accident
• It really sounds like he says "Mumma". "Hi" and "Yeh" sometimes!
• He loves anything that makes crinkly sounds
• He is very affectionate giving what we call "hugs and loves", especially when he is tried.
• He pants and flaps his arms when he is excited
• He sings and talks ALL the time!

Our little man has the funniest personality and we wouldn't change a thing about him!

Loving Lucas

Loving Lucas is the easiest thing in the entire world, so easy that I almost take for granted that he will be there to bring joy to my life everyday.

We rejoice in his every new accomplishment, laugh at the way he sleeps, "Come what may and love it" when he does a blowout in his car seat. His smile melts my heart and his snuggly hugs make my day. My sweet boy is my world and I am so grateful to have him in my life.

I feel honored that I was entrusted by the Lord to raise this precious boy throughout this life and to know that we will be a forever family.

Everyday is about loving Lucas and I will never let a day go by where I don't tell him I love him.

How blessed I am to have such a wonderful loving husband and an adorable little boy.

4 Months

This is a little late coming due to our busy trip to England

Approx. 14lbs 4oz, 25inchs

• He can't get enough of apples
• He misses Mummy when she goes to work and occasionally cries about it.
• He still sleeps through the night like a golden child.
• He is super loud when he talks.
• He gets mad if you aren't paying enough attention to him.
• He still wears 0-3 month old clothes, although he spends half of his life just in a nappie because it is so hot right now.
• He had his first real throw up the other week, it was sad.
• He puts everything he can in his mouth.
• He hates to lay still.
• He stayed with someone other than his Grandparents for the first time this week, he did great!
• He comes everywhere with us and is champ about it!

We love you little man!!

One Of The Best...

One of the best days was a year ago today, 18th July 2010. The previous day we had been to a family reunion and hiking with Heather and Gavin. We had been trying for a baby, but decided to stop trying (but weren't preventing) for a couple of months as we figured that timing would go better with school.

On Sunday the 18th as we made dinner I made a joke to Brett that I should take pregnancy test. Whilst he was out Home Teaching I realized I had one left over from previous months and thought "Why not?". I took test...it was negative. Then as I sat waiting for Brett to come home I questioned what the test said, I didn't have the instructions left so I wasn't exactly sure what was positive and what was negative. I tried looking it up on online, but had no luck.

When Brett came home I told him of the dilemma, we decided that even though it was a Sunday we would go to Walgreens and get another test. So I came home and took another...it was a dud, nothing showed up. That meant some more drinking and more waiting before I could take the 2nd test in the box. Finally I needed to pee again...another dud! SERIOUSLY?!?!

So once again we ventured to Walgreens, I drank some more and we played card games to pass the time. Finally on the 4th test we got a positive result. We were kind of shocked as we had made plans to wait, but were excited at the same time!

The next morning I took another test just to be sure and then we went to the Student Health Center to have them check. After 6 pregnancy tests we could officially say we were pregnant. Then the journey began. We waited until 12 weeks to tell people other than our parents, I was sick a ton and 9 months felt like forever. Now our little Munchkin is 4 months old this week and the journey was so worth it!

We love our little guy, and love that we get to spend forever with him!

Lucas and his Girlfriends

I say girlfriend plural because Lucas has never played with another little boy, only girls! I have a lot of friends who have boys, but they live so far away in places like England, Texas, California. Even his cousins that he plays with are only girls! He is already like his Daddy and melting many a girl's heart!

My friend Natalie (a fellow T2 Sister) and I like to get little Mummy and baby groups together and recently we visited with another T2 Sister who has a little girl named Rosalie.
